I don't know if this bird frequents our feeder so I looked it up. I believe it is a Gilded Flicker, but according to the chart I saw it only winters in Texas, California, Arizona and Mexico. So I am not sure.

We do have some famous old fashion painters but also for modern art . I love both. I just look at the art at it`s own and ask myself : do I like it so much I want it to have it in my living room and share my life with it
Vicki this is beautiful!!! FAV!! What kind of bird is this. I don't have much luck with bird shots at home. Lovely color and focus!! Looks so cold! yikes...we'll be home in about 10 days...but I guess I'm ready for it.
@eyesmile it is cold, but not horribly cold...dry and we even saw some sun today. Not sure when the rain will begin again. Travel safe! and hope all goes well when you get here to help with your family issue

Love the detail you captured. We did not even see birds with the two days of pouring down rain and high winds here. I figured they had taken cover somewhere and will be out when the rain and winds stop. So cool that you got to see this bird.
