Tonal Peaks by vignouse

Tonal Peaks

Another experiment in tonal gradation and texture, followed by differential tonal adjustments in Lightroom - that Michael Freeman has got a lot to answer for!

Second Thoughts: For those who are asking themselves what on earth this is all about - and, in retrospect, I share your confusion... you will find the answer in my Doubletakes album for today. Feel free to be rude about this version...
Close up, the segments of the pinecone look like they're covered in lichen. Fantastic detail!

Hello Richard! Nice to meet you here ;-)

A pinecone??! Would never have guessed. You really are nailing this bw book club! I bought a different b&w book by Michael Freeman and am learning so much! The tonal adjustments info really makes a difference. Also means I have been spending way too much time editing. Sure my husband is going to throw computer out of the window soon.

@jobnemo Hi Thomas - I'm replying in English because you will need the practice for when you start on the 1st April... bonne chance quand même!

T'riific! I hadn't realised it was a pine cone, I thought it was a pile of stones :D

this is really interesting - I have plans to go back and reprocess things properly for posting on Flickr from this week, because it's been such a scramble taking pictures and getting them up this week that I don't feel as if I've benefited as much as I could from the book this week

Nice, but I might have left the gold touches on the tips like in the other view.

@shannejw I've been scrambling, too! But I've seen a lot more promise this month than the last time I made an effort to do B&W.

@vignouse Nice - but I'm glad I know what it is!
