I'm using this last week of the B&W Bookclub theme to expand my experience of 'B&W as normality'... to polish (if I can) my technique of seeing and then capturing images in B&W that we would normally expect to see in colour. I don't expect this to be easy... or necessarily successful!
Fab shot - I think the b&w probably puts more attention onto the detail in the feather. Love the way the leaves frame the bird. I have a shot of a robin which definitely does not do well in mono so am keeping it for 1st March!
Somehow I( missed this yesterday.. Very nice use of the light, wonderful textures in the birds feathers, and the foliage detail where the light is falling is amazing.
fantastic details - interesting to see this in b&w - the one I really like in b&w is flowers (and that's not a usual choice), hadn't thought about birds
