Twilight Blue Glow... by vignouse

Twilight Blue Glow...

Home late tonight after a long busy day with neither the time nor the opportunity to take photographs. A quick tour of the garden as dusk was falling turned up this little blue flower trying (and succeeding in my opinion) to upstage the Hydrangeas. I don't know what it is, but it's my post for today. (Looks better on black IMHO)
beautiful image!

This certainly jumps off the page. Just love the colours. Are they cinerarias in the background?
July 22nd, 2014
Definitely agapanthus. Gorgeous shot of them and love the colourful background.

amazing shot

The agapanthus looks wonderful with the hydrangeas in the background. Have you used radial blur to give that lovely dark vignette?
July 22nd, 2014
@jocasta Thanks Joy - I did take some shots with a plainer background, but in the end, I liked this one with the hydrangeas. As you surmised, I used the LR radial filter to isolate the agapanthus and then inverted it and reduced the exposure on the background; to further separate the flower from the background, I reduced clarity and sharpness to their minimum values.
