Get Pushed 115 - Forced Perspective

My Get Pushed partner for this week - Laurie @luvmynynix - said: "I would LOVE to see you do a forced perspective shot...in black and white preferably as I do so love your black and white shots, but color is fine as well! :)"

Well I've had a hectic week so I only got round to the challenge today and as 'my lovely assistant', Mrs S, is away, I was going to have to engineer this on my own. To cap it all, it has seriously rained all day, so this shot was taken standing inside the French windows looking out onto the pergola and the side garden. My first try at a forced perspective image - it worked better in colour than B&W.
@luvmynynix Hi Laurie - well I managed to get round to your challenge today and I hope this meets with your approval. I did try this in B&W but the colour version was better to my eyes, so that's the one I have posted. It's not easy to do this on your own!

I like your "tiny" lamp :) Very nice forced perspective. Actually it's a fun subject that I like to practice.

Very clever!!

Did you have to run back and for the after taking lots of pictures! Very well done!

@maggiemae Thanks Maggimae - I was holding the camera in my right hand and squinting through the viewfinder as I attempted to get my fingers in the right position. I should have put the camera on a tripod and composed using LiveView... it would have been quicker in the long run!

Excellent capture considering you were doing it by yourself. I don't think that I would ever have attempted such a feat. .

very clever

Nicely done - I'm impressed at the sharpness and clarity... The few I've tried have not been successful from a doc point of view... Even with using f/22...

Clever indeed...well done...I like the image in color.

Great forced perspective.

Very clever forced perspective. Fav

Still find it amusing we had forced perspective the same week. Like yours. Neither wind, nor rain, nor dark of night shall keep a 365'r from a shot.

@joansmor ... nor the absence of one's 'lovely assistant'!

@northy Thanks for your comment Northy - I used a focal length of 11mm (16mm equivalent) at f/11 and focussed manually on the hyper-focal distance between the camera and the light... I let the background look after itself.

@vignouse That too......
October 13th, 2014
Haha! Very well done!

Your ingenuity is directly proportional to the duration of my absence! Most impwessive.

You did it! I love it! And...congrats on being a finalist!! I am going to try desperately to post tonight! :)
