Get Pushed 117: Ajar

Here's a second try for that challenge: a sign of the times - this field belongs to what was once a thriving farm... it is thriving no longer.
@pennyp Hi Penny - here's a second try for the challenge you set me this week.

Great image.

Neat image, lovely tones and great detail. Perfect in B & W

Great B&W. Very clear and sharp, and do I detect some toning? Nice.

As soon as I saw Beth said oh I like this and I scrolled down and saw your name. This is a gorgeous use of black-and-white. I guess the story is a Mystery.

Superb shot

@frankhymus Thanks Frank - yes, it was subtly triple-toned in PS CC.

Fantastic processing.

Fantastic b/w! I'm ready to walk right through that gate and see what's in the meadow. fav
October 24th, 2014
GREAT!

An invitation to go through - no locks, no fierce bulls, no mud!

Stellar composition, lines, textures, fav
October 24th, 2014
Great pov and suits the processing so well.
October 24th, 2014
I really like the low POV on this, almost as if the gate is inviting a child through it. Fav
October 24th, 2014
Excellent composition with low view point inviting you through the gate. Love the BW treatment. Perfect.
October 24th, 2014
This is the kind of photo I instantly recognize as yours. Wonderful bw tones but not over dramatic.
October 24th, 2014
Nice shot Richard
October 24th, 2014
Oooo, dramatic! The clouds behind are just magical - Lucy
October 24th, 2014
I like the low POV - and works so well for your challenge.
October 24th, 2014
Brilliant sad image Richard.
October 25th, 2014
The open gate could mean so many things; come on in, or everyone's left. With what you shared about this farm, I guess it was the latter. The richly detailed clouds create a sense of gloom and depression which is perfect considering a thriving farm is now no more. That's a sad thing.

wonderful shot!!! fav!!!
October 25th, 2014
So simple, so effective. Fav!
October 25th, 2014
Love this, Richard. I like the low POV and the processing is fabulous. I also like very much the open gate inviting you to walk through. Excellent and perfect for the challenge.

Have taken my eye off the ball this week. I missed this. Great capture.
October 25th, 2014
The ominous clouds really make the story.
October 26th, 2014
Wonderful shot and nailed the theme Richard
October 26th, 2014
well done!
October 26th, 2014
This is a beautiful photo... the brooding clouds, textures in the wood, lower POV, dangling gate ajar - all contribute to reveal the story behind the image.
October 26th, 2014
Lovely processing. I really want to get into the photo and take a peek whats behind the fence. Very inviting with the gate ajar. FAV
