Reading in the dark... by vignouse

Reading in the dark...

...cats can you know!

In my second full week here on 365, I did seven days of things 'found around the house'. As my phojo is not currently firing on all cylinders and it seems to be constantly raining, I've decided to repeat the exercise but this time with everyday or mundane things pictured, if possible, in an unordinary way.

Here's the second one - a little whimsical stone figurine of a reclining cat reading. Given cats' legendary ability to see in the dark, it seemed fitting to picture it like that.
I like how you've got the book highlighted. I also like the b&w on the black background.

@kt8ird It's actually a colour image Kate - the figurine is made of cast stone which is a sort of blotchy beige colour and it is pictured on a black cloth background. I tried this in B&W but it looked too insipid to my eyes.

@vignouse Oh, I see! I thought you changed it to brown. I think it's cute that the cat is using it's tail to read. I really like it on the background. Not sure why, just do. :)

Great low-key. Love that while he is very much in the dark you see so much detail.

Haha good one Richard. Nice lighting and tones. I have photographed every "object" in our home for 365. It's what you have to resort to when the temps outside are in the minus 20's C for 4 months.

Nice light on the subject. Makes it look mysterious

Fitting indeed, love the lighting and reminds me of reading under the covers by flashlight which I did frequently as a child
