This is another view of the Val sans Retour - the Valley of no Return - which featured in this album 30 December 2014. This view, taken this afternoon, shows the highest of the four lakes in the valley (in the middle of this image) and the surrounding trees and vegetation. I was particularly attracted by the variety of textures and shades and I processed this image with a quad-toned technique in order to enhance the subtle variations in tonal contrast.
If I'm going to flatter the mentor I'm coming right to the source (see Kate's posting on my blur picture). This feels so far removed from what I think of as your area of France. That is to say it is not pastoral.But such a wonderful BW.
@kt8ird@rosiekerr@joansmor. Thanks ladies, you'll find 'Duotoning' under the 'Image' tab in PS. There are over 200 duotones, tritones and quadtones to choose from, but you'll have to convert your image to greyscale and 8-bit in order to be able to use them... and don't forget to convert it back to RGB Colour when you're finished. Have fun...
@joansmor
It is really beautiful. Thank you for sharing your technique. I really like the result.
