For those of you who don't read French, the sheet music is for French Hymns and the title which is being obscured by the Dark Knight's shadow is 'People of the Light'.
I liked this idea and I still do, but it's execution leaves something to be desired... at 3 minutes to midnight however, it is what it is!
@northy This was inspired by one of your recent postings Mira... it hasn't quite worked out as I would have liked, but it's all I have to post today. I'll try harder next time - promise!
@maggiemae How nice - it was the opening hymn at Sunday morning mass at Paimpont Abbey and I had the music (it's a 'partition' in French) printed off as I was the lay worship leader this week.
@joansmor Fine... but I needed a post for tonight and I ran out of time to do any more work on it. Anyway, more processing wouldn't get me to what I had in my head... I would have needed to have re-shot it with different lighting and I would have put the music and the Knight on different layers and blended them. I learned something nevertheless which is the reason we all do this... isn't it?
what a lovely chess piece! and i do like the dark moody tones of this and the irony of placement by the sheet music... have you thought about trying to get to a lower pov and shoot the piece at his own level?
@northy That would have been my preference but my initial thought for this was the Dark Knight threatening the People of Light and with a lower viewpoint you wouln't have been able to read the title of the piece. As I already intimated, this wasn't the easy - and quick - shot that I initially thought it would be. As @joansmor said, I need to go away and rethink this one... or forget it completely! Thanks for the inspiration anyway but your reputation as THE chess piece person remains intact... and with good reason :-)
Nicely portrays the story... I like the image without fully understanding the meaning, but your comments (and those of others) add understanding. A nice tribute shot, too. :)
