This is the view from our front door looking south across a field of winter wheat. The field is bounded by a tall bank where the drifts of snowdrops of three weeks ago have ceded their place to the daffodils, which were the only thing springlike about this dull and chilly day!
Pretty. Not for us yet here in NJ. 5 inches of snow today, the first day of Spring. I hope I might get to Washington DC this year to see the Cherry Blossoms at the Tidal Basin, but I'd better hurry up and decide when and make plans.
This makes me smile! Beautiful spring pic. We are having what is hopefully, our last snow storm of the year here in NY. I can't wait to see some spring blooms! fav
@maggiemae It's a small lane that stops at our front door: the snowdrops were planted by a previous owner some 40 years ago and there are now masses of them - we give her some posies every year. Mrs S planted the daffodils perhaps 25 years ago.
Not fair, not fair, not fair. Hasn't gotten above freezing for several days and we may get snow tomorrow. I am really going to go sit in a corner and sulk. Okay, I'm over it. Your flowers are beautiful But seeing the field in the background makes it unique.
Great shot. The daffodils in our yard here need another few days, maybe a week before they actually bloom, but the wheat fields are starting to show the nice green of spring... It is neat that thousands of miles away, similar stuff is going on!
Beautiful color against the green background and then the more subdued tree line, barn and sky. Lovely. I hope our spring bulbs multiply like this over the years. Although I should start by hoping they come up and bloom this first year!
I love, love this cheerful shot. It warms my heart to see the splash of gold, to contrast it with the silhouette of a tree skeleton . A big, bif fav Richard
Wonderful spring shot
