The third weekend in June, towns and villages large & small all over France celebrate the national Fête de la Musique and Paimpont is no exception. We had three different bandstands in the main street with a dozen different bands playing throughout the day... and all this is free. I am always fascinated by the people who attend and my eye was particularly drawn to this couple taking a pause for refreshment on the terrace outside the crêperie: she is eating a galette-saucisse - a grilled sausage wrapped up in a savoury buckwheat flour pancake. They were definitely larger than life and my processing reflects that. This is for the Street 6 challenge.
Well, she got dressed up but he looks average! I'm trying to work out what she is holding! The shop says 'glaces' and 'creperie' so maybe she is unwrapping a pancake!
The Gregynog Music Festival that I attended this year had a French theme. Lots of French musicians who I imagine would have hated the cuisine at Gregynog Hall! Didn't spoil their playing though… I was so impressed by the incredible Hapsichord playing of Beatrice Martin and of her ensemble, 'Folie francaises' and also by the energy and joie-de-vivre of Ensemble Amaryllis. Nice street shot BTW, Richard!
