Candid Portrait - Every Last Morsel

This is a candid portrait snapped at the Fête de Fer - Iron Fair - today at Paimpont... who knew that a portion of french-fried could be so tasty? And would you believe that her hair was died bright green! I think though that she has a classic beauty that comes through best in B&W.

Personally I like this viewed on black...
Beautiful portrait! Beautiful girl. Great candid.

A lovely shot. When you mentioned that she had green hair, I admit to wishing you had put the colour version up!

She is very beautiful!

Her beautiful features take the spotlight in this B&W presentation. Otherwise I think we'd only be seeing her green hair!

You're absolutely right Richard, the B&W processing is just so right for this shot. Superb clarity and detail - a wonderful candid shot indeed.

Love the candid photo, she is beautiful and it looks very good in B&W.

B&w is a very strong choice, given the green hair. ;) A lovely candid portrait. A question... I really like the softness of this portrait. How did you achieve it? Reduce clarity, or some other mix of processing magic?

brilliant timing, great concentration. wise choice for b/w considering her hair is green
fav

@rosiekerr Thanks Rosie and well observed. I'm not a great fan of negative Clarity settings because the softness usually comes with a loss of definition that I find unacceptable. To produce the softness you see here I added a 20 pixel radius Gaussian blur in PS CC and then reduced the opacity of the blur layer to about 25%.

I love the combination of classic glamorous beauty with a bit a plastic.

She is beautiful and b&w shows that well
