At the end of a long day we finally got away in our Motor Home/RV but rather too late to go as far for the first day as we had planned. Plan B was to overnight at a favourite place - La Roche Bernard on the estuary of the River Vilaine in southern Brittany. We dined late - 10pm - so this shot was taken just before midnight and shows a small part of the leisure marina. This is perhaps 100 metres from where we are overnighting.
This is hand-held at 1/10 sec with the 50mm wide-open at f/1.4 ISO 2000. Unsurprisingly, it views best on black.
What a lovely shot. Beautiful reflections. You certainly have a steady hand. I struggle to get a clear shot at anything less than 1/50 sec. I guess I just have to use my tripod more often.
Lovely, how the masts are so straight above and so variable below. The reflections are really beautiful, given the lateness of the hour. I am a recent "joiner" to your SOOC challenge. Thanks for initiating this... I have learned new functionalities of my camera, even after two days. :)
@fntngrma Hi Rosan - the hand-holding is nothing to be proud about, I just couldn't be bothered to take a tripod out with me! I took three shots of this scene and two were sharp, the third wasn't but the speed had dropped to 1/6 sec in that one. I did brace myself against a handy lamppost!
