Textures...

... it's been a frantic day! These are some oddments of wood leaning against a wall in one of our outbuildings... I liked the muted colours and the contrast in textures.
Very cool! Without being busy :) Love it

Your title is perfect. Not only are the textures interesting, but the lines - vertical/horizontal, and shapes make this very effective.

This works well. I can feel the wood and the stone and just want to hear the crunch underfoot of those lingering leaves.

I like the strong vertical and horizontal lines and textures of course!

Simple and most effective. I'm immediately drawn in by the horizontal and vertical lines. fav

Very effective shot , there the wait to be of use, all the time weathering ....

the details really make this: the scattered leaves, the log with branches still attached, skinny stones vs. fat stones, saw lines in board, etc. etc.

Lovely colours

Reluctantly I have to agree with you, Richard! The colours are so subtle and work with the texture ... so often colour does the opposite. Your gentle treatment has helped keep the colour subdued ... the b/w would need a more vigorous work-over.
