When Mrs S and I were first together, she made me a pair of toy bears which we called Hélène & Hubert. They were special to a difficult period in our lives and also the period when we were buying the house which has been our home for the last 14 years - for 12 years before that it was a holiday home.
They have had a number of new outfits over the years but still have a place close to our hearts for what they remind us of; they sit always on a table in the corner of our sitting room.
I felt that this dreamy nostalgic treatment captured best them and what they mean to us.
(As a side note - this is the 1200th photo I have posted to my 365 project.)
A very special pair of bears that don't look like huggy bears but are so unique being hand made! Helene & Hubert will stay here looking supreme in their cute outfits for a long time in the future!
Great story about the bears, and they are so cute.. And they actually get changes of clothes now and then???? Love it! We all need items that make us remember the past and smile at some of the past events in our lives that might otherwise be shoved to the back of our minds.
My favorite detail in your story is that they get new clothes periodically.
p.s. I looked up shaggy inkcaps and found their season goes through November. They were in a sheltered fold of land, nestled at the south-facing base of a very large tree. We've had quite mild weather, so i guess it's just a wee stretch for them to appear.
1200 photos - wow, that is an achievement!
