No time to take a photo-walk today so I snatched a few minutes during the day to run a couple of experiments. This photo of Mitzi sitting on the back of one of our sofas was lit partly by window light and partly by the halogen lighting in the adjacent kitchen. I needed to set the ISO at 4000 even with the lens open at f/2.8 and I am encouraged to note that the resulting image is perfectly usable with just standard raw conversion in Lightroom... but it is important to get the exposure spot-on.
You can see the other experiment in my PLAY album posting for today where I was exploring DoF at wide apertures.
Beautiful portrait of Mitzi, the eyes are very sharp. I am pleased to see you are living in Brittany. A lovely country, I should now as I was born and spend all my youth in there. Now I live in the UK.
And wow, my camera doesn't even have a 4000.
