New (old) toy! by vignouse

New (old) toy!

Our postie delivered my latest acquisition yesterday - a 1985 vintage Nikon F301 film camera (N2000 is the American designation). Here it is cleaned up some, wearing my Samyang 85mm f/1.4 lens and charged with a fresh roll of Ilford HP5 B&W film. I guess you'll get to see the results in 2/3 weeks... or perhaps not as it's entirely untested!
it's a beauty, isn't it?

..an interesting project awaits you. Gnashing of teeth is expected...and indeed integral to the process.

Fun indeed. Will you be doing your own developing?

how wonderful!

@jasperc Not initially: that's actually the easy bit, then you have to either make enlarged prints and scan those or scan the negatives... both are difficult to get high quality results. I'm going to start by having them commercially developed and scanned. I've done the home darkroom bit in the past; it's fun and fascinating but...

Cheez I would have sent you my old film Nikon for free. DO you follow @pickerandagrinner he shots mostly in film and could help you with the scanning. Not sure if he does it commercially or what. Plays with a lot of different film etc.
