Cesson-Sevigné - ancient and modern. by vignouse

Cesson-Sevigné - ancient and modern.

The same subject as yesterday but photographed from the other side of the medieval bridge and showing clearly the modern replacement for the middle span which collapsed many years ago.. The crane in the background marks the site of a new development.

BoB again!

This one is even better than the one you posted yesterday... great reflections... On this one you have a better view at the restaurant.. It would be great to have dinner at Chez Edgar on that balcony... love the picture Richard.

There are lovely reflections and it looks like some tubing on the river just under the bridge.

Chez Edgar if that is what its called is in a marvellous spot! This is a beautiful bridge and would be historic!

Too bad they didn’t do the remake more in the original style. Nice reflections and light

I'm partial to yesterday's, no crane but I admit to being fussy. How old is the bridge? Glad that they saved the majority of its character.

Always a superlative use of black and white. Allow me to friendly envy the master.

Not only is this shot a reminder of the restaurant next door, but also a timely opportunity to think about revisiting it.

Great capture! I know that development is necesary to keep the economy growing. But I hope that they build something tasteful so that the caracter of the village is not spoiled.

What a wonderfully calm day. Nicely captured.

@joysabin The bridge dates from the 15C and still carries cars... but only to a car park. Suppressing the crane would only have taken a couple of minutes but I wanted to show the true ambiance of this part of the town where old and new cohabit peacefully.

Awesome black and white, as usual.

interesting how the replacement in the middle looks like a scar :)
