NF-SOOC-2018 - Day 2: Sky Power

This very large power-pole appeared in our lane - unfortunately - about 25 years ago... but, it has to be said, it does have a certain majesty.

This is Day 2 in my annual NF-SOOC-September challenge: a month of sooc pictures taken with a 50mm lens or its equivalent for crop-sensor cameras. You can read all about it here - https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/31977/nf-sooc-september-2018

I love your POV and that beautiful blue sky.

And it does (I assume) make your life easier?

@houser934 Well no! The power lines pass over my garden and the electricity authority comes every 2 years and hacks off the tops of my trees.

Like it coming out of corner on diagonal

it sure looks more interesting here than it would in real life - great composition :)

What a shame, but I guess we're stuck with poles if we want power. Unless, of course, one lives in a new estate where the power-lines are underground. I like the shot anyway.

Gret pov

I missed this. POV and colour lend a certain majesty. Whilst such installations are hardly designed for adding beauty to the countryside, this does assure service 24/7, almost.

It probably serves a non-aesthetic purpose too!

I prefer the other photo of this pylon, which is now a memory to me, and one that I think of often.
