NF-SOOC-2018 - Day 5: Kitchen Candid

We were due to have gone on a holiday a couple of days ago but stuff has happened that means we can't leave for at least another week. Being on holiday makes NF-SOOC easy because you're always visiting new places. As we're stuck here for a bit longer with little time available for photography, I'll try to make my images present the familiar in a less familiar way.

This is Day 5 in my annual NF-SOOC-September challenge: a month of sooc pictures taken with a 50mm lens or its equivalent for crop-sensor cameras. You can read all about it here - https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/31977/nf-sooc-september-2018

BoB... definitely.
Interesting light here - brings up Mrs's face so well! And nice to see your kitchen!

Nicely lit and I like the depth you were able to bring to it

Love the true candid feel of this shot, her expression's priceless. No internet here yesterday, I have some catching-up to do.

I like the lighting and clarity in this shot.

Wonderful candid with perfect lighting.

A nice in-home candid. I figured she was probably cleaning up the kitchen. My husband and I would often do that - when he cooked, not so much when I cooked.

Well done, lovely capture of Mrs. S and the lighting is spot on.

I like your little man on the lampshade :)
Is he singing a song?
September 6th, 2018
@4rky He's actually on the kitchen counter about 4 mètres behind the lampshade... I think he's probably saying "Ta-Daaah!" 😏

I have a small bendy man adopting a similar pose.
He is sitting on the shoulders of an arty ornament titled "The Thinker"

Great candid and sooc

Good work Richard. So well framed, composed and lit.
September 7th, 2018
I really like how so many elements of the scene contribute to the framing 🙂

@northy Thankyou Mira - I like, when I can, to create depth in an image and I normally do this by by putting lighter tones in the foreground and darker tones in the background. Here, for a change, I did it the other way round.

A home. One of my homes. I'm guessing Mrs S is closing the shutters.
