...pictured from our front door this chestnut tree is the only one left of 21 trees that lined our lane but were cut down by the landowner because the farmer who rents the field complained that they were blocking the light and reducing crop yields :-((
A nice shot of the lone tree. I know here, it seems we have a lot of walnut trees. If a garden is planted close to one, it will play havoc with the yield from the crops planted. Don't know why.
The different pictures that we can conjure up when looking at clouds, I see the tree as the focal point of the image but my eye gets drawn to the near vertical line of clouds just to the left that reminds me of waves about to hit the shore. Do you agree or do you think I should I take more water with it:).
@janiskay I heard that you all need to move North because of rising water. So I hope people aren't taking out too long a mortgage. Just teasing sis. Hope all is well
Richard - going for a photo ride this morning as we have two snow storms coming Tues-Wed so will look for some great trees like this. Do you have many evergreen trees in your area?
Not a fan of drastic change. Unfortunate about the 20 hope that the farmer can find is crops yields increase enough to leave the last one standing. The image is peaceful none the less.
Good B&W and now you've got a fine shot with that lone tree standing out. Shame to cut down trees for reasons of profit. The farmer wouldn't complain if the environment was changed in a way that improved his income! And how about the aircraft vapour trails and fumes that reduce the incidence of light striking his field. Aircraft operators should receive complaints from all of us! What's the crop?
Now loving this especially he movement in the sky!

Shame about the trees, it's a strange world that we live in.
