Today is the start of a new year, it's also the start of my second year on 365... and it's been a funny sort of day! I seem to have shaken off the worst effects of the flu, although my head is still feeling very muzzy and vague and I ache all over, but now Mrs S is coming down with it and has had to take to her bed. Faced with her normal routine being completely disrupted, Mitzi has done what any sensible dog would do... she has gone to sleep on her favourite sofa!
I've decided to stay on 365 for the time being, but some changes are needed if I am to comp[lete a second year. One thing is that last year I was so busy trying to be a better photographer that I have little in the way of personal and family photographs... hence this Diary album. The photos here are unlikely to have much photographic merit... but they will be important to me.
To see what else I am changing... please take the time, if you can, to read through my revised profile statement where everything is explained.
Finally, a big thank you to all of you who have followed me and encouraged me with your comments and Favs - I couldn't have made it without you.
I wish you all a Happy, Fulfilling and Healthy New Year.
(I've tagged this for ntmc as it was taken with a new Sony RX100 M3 - my combined present for Christmas and my 70th Birthday. I wanted to have a small but high quality camera that I could carry with me everwhere to record my day... we'll see how it works out.)
She's lovely and a Fav for this gorgeous shot of her. I hope your wife feels better soon and I've decided to follow you to see what you are going to do this year.
I could look at Mitzi shots all year....Love the title of your new album! Read through your profile. I now know my growth has not been as spectacular as others because I haven't devoted as much daily time. Amazing commitment! Looking forward to your coming year...May 2015 be healthy and happy for you and your family
Pleased you are feeling better Richard. Your revised profile sounds a great way to enable you to carry on. I am relieved about this as you have been a great help to me on several occasions and i always enjoy seeing your work.
I hope your wife feels better soon and that you and your family have a happy 2015.
Boy do I know what you mean about commenting. I feel like I like Lovely capture or similar words several times a day. I just can't find the time to write more and just want to let people know I visited. I thing that Graeme (think I've spelled that wrong) is smart posting many the same words every time. I am thrilled just to have him take the time to do that. I have been so encouraged by my friends who visit most every day and by the people who have helped me improve my pictures. I keep trying to figure out a balance. Today I have spent in front of the computer thinking about pictures and spacing out. Now I have to go make my supper or go to bed hungry. If you post I will be there commenting and if you skip I don't blame you. That is really no different then the fillers I use all the time. Thank you for your teaching and your friendship.
'Fairy Grotto' in my main 365 almum for today was also taken with this compact, and the Photos of Mitzi in December when I was just checking it out. These last two were taken at 1600 ISO which is amazing for a compact camera.
Happy New Year, Richard. I've enjoyed reading your new profile and agree wholeheartedly with all that you've written. Little Mitzi (not quite so little anymore) looks wonderfully happy on your sofa. Looking forward to following your project in 2015.
I hope your wife feels better soon and that you and your family have a happy 2015.
