As we draw near to the longest day, it now doesn't get dark until after 11pm so the blue hour beloved of us photographers happens quite late in the evening. As I drove home from photo-club tonight, I watched the sky slowly taking on the colours of the night. It was too good an opportunity to miss, so I stopped off in Paimpont village to take a blue-hour shot of one of my favourite subjects - Paimpont Abbey, reflected here in the stillness of the lake.
@joansmor Sunrise at the moment is around 5am - we have just 6 hours of darkness at the moment and by 21 December, we will have just 6 hours of daylight.
Our sunrise is also about 5 am but sunset is at 8:30. Our long day is about 15.5 and short is 9. But in Florida it only shortens to about 11 and lengthens only to about 14 1/2.
I finally have a moment to see this album... what a gorgeous blue hour shot. Such lovely stillness. This is almost contemplative in its calm beauty. I had forgotten how little "night" your part of the world has right now, too.
