The town of Loyat in the département of Morbihan is typical of the region in that the the streets are a mixture of renovated and unrenovated buildings. This scene is the top of Rue Kernévant just down from the church in the centre of town: you can see the church and another view of the house on the left in my '365' album today - https://365project.org/vignouse/365/2017-02-22
This is for my PLAY project - you can read more about it in my profile - where I'll be using a different prime lens for each month of the year: for February it's the Fujinon 18mm f/2 on an APS-C sensor camera (today the Fuji X-Pro1) - the equivalent of a 28mm lens on a full-frame camera.
I hope you give us a summary of what you think of all the prime lenses you try. I am very impressed with the ones you have taken this month. This photo is lovely.
Whilst I admire the French attitude that guards its patrimony/history...like a cat guards her kittens...there is neither sufficient public nor private funds to restore and/or renew such properties. Eventually these fine buildings will have to be made safe or razed.
There is something wonderfully appealing to me about this building. I love the mixture of bricks and cinder blocks and plaster, the boarded up windows and window bars, and the feeling that it's half abandoned and half lived in. What story it would tell if it had the ability. fav

something about this just appeals to my senses and emotions
