...helping me to demonstrate one of the important characteristics of the 90mm (effective) focal length - the extremely limited depth of the plane of focus at wide apertures. As lenses around this focal length are often used for portraiture, the tendency is to open up the aperture in order to blur the background and make the subject stand out. This often means though that the eyes are in focus but the tip of the nose and the ears aren't, as demonstrated by Mitzi... although she didn't know much about it as she was asleep!
This is for my PLAY project - you can read more about it in my profile - where I'll be using a different prime lens for each month of the year: for March it's the Fujinon 60mm f/2.4 Macro on an APS-C sensor camera (today the Fuji XT2) - the equivalent of a 90mm lens on a full-frame camera.
@ducasrouge Thank you Serge - she was lit from top right which made catch-lights unlikely... especially as she was asleep at the time with her eyes tight-shut ;-))
