This is the inland port of St. Goustan which served the town of Auray: today it is a leisure port, although there are few water-borne visitors during the winter months.
There is an interesting link between St. Goustan and the USA, commemorated by a plaque on one of the buildings on the waterfront. The plaque is dated 4 December 1776 and states that on this day, Benjamin Franklin disembarked here, sent to France by the United-States of America to negotiate the first treaty between the two countries.
This looks a beautiful little town and what a fascinating piece of history. We will be down that way in September, I think this will definitely be on the "to do" list!
Would that all chocolate shops were decked out in red. Reflections,
Stillness captured through the faithful reflections. Through the passage of years, little has changed...with the exception of the chocolate shop in flagrante delicto!
We did it again, in my feed your picture is above mine. Mine is waterfront property without the water and a pop of red. LOL I guess our real similarity is that we like landscape photography. Never tire of yours.
