Today we visited Suman's mum and sisters for Sunday dinner. It's always a veritable feast, and very tasty. Before dinner though I took my camera out of its bag and Vicky, Suman's elder sister, asked me to take a photo of her. I haven't done a shoot of Vicky yet for this project, so this evening we rectified that.
I took a few posed and a few candid shots, and Suman and I both agreed that this natural shot was the best. However, we differed on whether it was better in colour or black and white; I usually choose monochrome, but this time I felt the warm tones of the colour image just edged it. In post-processing I decreased the clarity to soften it somewhat, but other than that this is pretty much how it was taken.
It's been a while since my last portraiture shoot. I enjoy doing them. Suman has some beautiful ladies in her circle of family and friends, so I think I should do shoots with them during winter whilst it's cold outside. Some of these people read this blog - you know who you are - so, fancy volunteering?
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.
