On a damp day, Suman puts the 'bright' in to Brighton

It was pointed out to me last night that today's my 365th picture. I began on my 30th birthday last year (yes, I'm 31 tomorrow; how depressing!) Well, some of you know that I haven't been fully committed to this project for the last 50 days or so, after taking and posting a photo daily for well over 300 days.

I was getting increasingly busy at work, I was lacking inspiration and then the final straw was falling ill. Being an all or nothing type of guy, not taking photos for a few days made the decision for me and I decided to quit. Although a small part of me wonders whether I should have continued, I don't regret stopping. The main aim of doing the 365 project was to improve my technique, and at the time that I quit I didn't feel I was learning anything new.

I continued to post some of my previous work; mainly the images that almost made it as my daily photo. I've also posted the odd new photo. For today I've decided to post one of my favourite shots of my fiancée Suman. One of the reasons for quitting was because we started planning for our wedding - which is in September - so it seems right to post a picture of her.

Anyway, I'm going to continue posting photos regularly, and when I find the time I'll take new photos too and post them. I want to thank my followers, and I hope you don't feel let down that I've stopped doing the traditional 365 project, but I hope you enjoy seeing my work nonetheless.
