Frilly Tutu

I was trying out my new (refurbished) 80-400m lens. It must be me but sooo disappointed with the results today.

I love the frilly tutu and details. After trying the tamron 18-400, I was disappointed too, I think one just expects too much.

I'm not sure what you expected but this seems to have a sharp focus.

What is it that disappoints you? It was taken at 280mm, so you could have got closer. Nice detail on the frilly feathers.

I’m only an iPhone photographer and haven’t had a Nikon since the film days, but IMHO this is beautiful. What were you expecting that you don’t see?

It will take a few goes to get used the the difference in centre of balance with new lens, and this has spot on focus, (so guessing others less so?). Need to play more and learn to live it ( so I propose a trip to kingfisher bridge with it??!!) Oh favved btw
