Lighting 2

This was an exercise to use on Camera Flash (not built in Flash). I used a Godox TT350 for Nikon Flash. Although I have had the flash a while I am an absolute novice.
Lower Right - point flash at the flowers
Upper Right - point flash above flowers towards the ceiling.
Upper Left - light towards the left upper corner of the room.
Lower Left - light angled towards the ceiling towards the back.
It was interesting to see the change of light and shadows.
All settings remained the same for each shot
46mm F16 1/60 ISO 160
I set the flash to Auto.
A useful exercise and made all the more fun by doing this with my friend JackieR.

I’m not an expert, but I’d say you need extra lighting, a soft box or something like they use in portrait photography.
I mentioned in Jackie’s photo that they might need a little more water - your flowers , your problem apparently 😉😂

@carole_sandford thank you Carole. The exercise was to use flash lighting without other sources that you mentioned at this stage. All part of the learning process to see shadows etc. more options will come into play in future weeks although many thanks, your comments are valuable.
You will be pleased to know that the flower water has been replenished and during the day the Lilies have started to open.

Unless you were going for a particular mood, I like the lower right the best. I like that you put them all together with the info.

Susan I love how you showed the difference settings. Lower right is very harsh shadows so it was good to see what it looks like with that. The other 3 the shadows are much softer which I love. Out of the 4 the left bottom looks the best. I think I would try a wider f stop such as 5.6 - 9 and see what happens for the other shots or increase the iso would be my suggestions. I think these really turned out wonderful. You really did an awesome job with this flash challenge!
