Found in my local farm shop today. I have never been big on Halloween but it is becoming a real commercial event here in the UK.
Being a country girl I have always had pumpkin as a seasonal food source.
It was only last week that I asked my dear pass the pig friends a question about apple butter so surprised to see it today. At £5.99 a jar I am not in a hurry to try it.
Oooh, I like the sound of apple butter. My daughter is very into Halloween for some reason - she is already excited about it and counting down the days! Not quite sure why: last year we took her trick or treating on our street but we had to come home because she didn't like it! This year we have agreed to have a little party for her friends instead.
I love this. Although as a yank I have to say I am not wild about any of these items but I am definitely in the minority. I do love to decorate with pumpkins though. Thanks for thinking of your friends across the pond!
Are you telling me you don’t have marshmallows in the UK either?! Well, of course you do because here’s a photo of some, but… Terrific photo of the spreads, and I see you found a little mushroom pumpkin!
@grammyn yes we have marshmallows but smiled that someone thought that thy might sell better by adding “ a great American tradition “ on the packaging.
Lovely collage. I don't associate pumpkin with sweet foods but Lady Florence Bjelke-Petersen, the wife of former Australian politician Sir Jo Bjelke-Petersen was famous for her pumpkin scones. Something I have never fancied making.
Fabulous collage! I love apple butter, and haven’t had it for quite a while. Srangely I was just thnking of it the day before we talked. Halloween is big in all the stores here for weeks before. And big with Dan, of course.
