While I can’t take credit for these (I bought the “blueprints” per se from teachers pay teachers — “Art with Jenny K”), I think they came out amazing. I read the students, “Radiant Child” by Javaka Steptoe (a biography about the artist Jean Michel Basquiat) and talked about how Steptoe used squares and rectangles as the backgrounds for his illustrations. Then each student got a square to color. Later I cut them apart and put them back together to make these posters. The kids didn’t know what they were coloring. It’s been so fun to hear their comments this week.
@margonaut I know! I think that’s why I like them so much! They were really fun to make and even the ones that are sort of badly colored still look good when they’re all together.
