Fabric made of "bissu", a thread produced by the pinna nobilis mussel. The mussel can reach 1.5 metres in length and live up to 40 or even 50 years.
This lady, Chiara, is the only craftsperson in the world (apart from her one, Swiss, student) who continues to weave with this rare thread, even though the skill dates back to Egyptian times.
