Da Vinci's Floodlight

There wasn't much Leonardo da Vinci didn't invent.
This is a model in an exhibition dedicated to the famous man. The idea was a box with mirrors on all internal walls and on the inside of the door, and a lens on the side (seen here), and a simple candle on the inside.
Mr da Vinci had a keen interest in the theatre and devised this as a way of lighting up the stage.
An awesome man born before his time

@pennystot Yes, he was so inventive. It's believed he may have suffered Attention Deficit Disorder - the reason he came up with so many ideas but rarely carried them out! @thresheg Thanks Graham!
