A scene from a more 'urban' environment, out in the town of Carmarthen.

This is one of the commercial buildings along Spilman Street, probably old warehouses for storage etc. that were built in the late Victorian era (?) - the buildings are there on the record maps I've found for 1888.

In addition this street & its neighbour that runs parallel called 'King Street' are one of the oldest parts of Carmarthen town.

It is interesting to note Records from Medieval Times give the name of a few of Carmarthen’s more prestigious residents – they were often witnesses to property deeds.

Among them are William Kyng and Richard Spilmon (and I found it interesting that two streets in Old Carmarthen I have mentioned are called King Street and Spilman Street).
