Sometimes I feel it's the weekend when I struggle the most to find something to take. I know I shouldn't as I often have time on my hands to search out something interesting, but quite often, my mind is switched off and I cannot come up with any ideas..
Like today for example. Just some clouds! Although on saying that, it doesn't look too bad, silhouetted against the gound with the sun about to burst through I suppose....
Took my car to the garage this lunchtime to check on my tire (think it's a slow puncture) but I got there as it was closing so instead stopped by the river near my flat and took today's snap.
Might go to the movies tonight... fancy seeing The Social Network...
Why struggle with thinking about what to shoot? You always have everything you need right in front of you, like you did here. Do not underestimate the power of just shooting what you see in front of you. Good job!
Love the way the clouds are all lined up and that fact that you had this big wide open space makes it all the better. To bad tomorrow is still the weekend, better turn your brain on as pressure is on :)
What a brilliant cloud formation! I love it. It reminds me of one that happens in Far North Queensland once in a while when the winds over the Gulf of Carpentaria and the winds from the Great Barrier Reef collide to make the most brilliant cloud formations that look like columns running overhead. I haven't seen them myself; but I have heard it's something to see.
Very attractive shot Andy. Lynda Parker has it pegged; these are like trade wind clouds. Many of our days sailing across the tropical zones have been accompanied by clouds like these.
Thank you guys... bit of a surprise to see this on the home page when I signed in.. @mozette@ellida I'v seen some great pics of the clouds you refer to... maybe one day I'll get the chance to see them in real life... thanks
@laburgett Hi.. thanks... It was the standard 18-55 kit lens, but I used one of the camera's pre-set options (silhouete mode) which sometimes give a really dramatic look on pics
this photo is so beautiful though! Love how the clouds seem to be getting smaller
BTW - I found the Social Network very interesting. Couldn't stop talking about it after leaving the theatre.
:)
