I took this shot as I walked down one of the side streets in Spitalfields this lunchtime as I was making my way to a meeting. Most of these old and fantastic huguenot homes have been refurbished and are worth a small fortune, but this tatty place seems to have past the property developers by...
The street was actually very quiet, so I was a bit lucky to capture a passer-by as I took the shot - In my rush to get my camera out of my bag, I must of accidently switched to portrait mode... I did mess about a little in picnik, but in the end, did nothing apart from a bit of a crop... A SOOC shot! Now that's unusual..!
As mentioned, I was on my way to a meeting - I was seeing the manager of the Lomography shop in Old Spitalfields Market about sponsoring or supplying prizes for the photography competition I will be running at work - She was quite excited about the prospect and wants to go a bit further - so on top of some Diana and Holga lomo cameras as prizes, she wants to offer free workshops, Lomowalks (organised photo walks) and space to exhibit..
wow your photo contest is really shaping up isn't it!! would love to take a lomo walk. I love how the passerby has a red suitcase to match the very very cool old building
Fantasatic shot. Makes me want to pick up my sandpaper and start working on this grand old building. Congrats on the coompetition, it sounds like it's really shaping up.
