Not the best bee photo I've ever taken, but these guys wouldn't settle for more than a second before moving off to another flower.. And then when they did settle, it was almost always on the far side of the flower!!

The bees actually seemed to be in a bit of a frenzy, not sure what these flowers are but it certainly had them worked up..

Another glorious warm sunny day in London... Some great fluffy style clouds this morning, now clear blue skies...

A few weeks back I applied for some Olympic tickets (like 20 million or so others did) and got an email today saying I'll need to ensure there's sufficient funds in my account on 16 May.. Not idea what I'll end up seeing just yet as it's a lottery, but at least I'll see something...
Great Capture Andy, love the color and congrats on your tickets, thats way cool!

Not a bad shot for a moving target, love the DoF and the defocused background!

Congratulation on the tickets! I once had the opportunity to work at an Olympic event (referee at a rowing regatta) but could not but together the funds to attend. I like the purple.

hmmmm wonder what is considered sufficiant. So here is a cool fact for you my husbands grandmother won 3 olympic medals in the 30's for England in fencing. We all thought we should go to London for the olympics but I think it is just a pipe dream

Well now Andy, here I am at your request but.........wonderful picture of the bee but the flower id .....I'd say some kind of mint maybe but its a bit early. Looking in my book it could be clary, Salvia pretensis. Try googling that and see if it is anything like!! We got the Olympic e mail too........you're right it is a bit of a lottery but hopefully we'll get to at least one event!

I have to wait until bees die before photographing them. ;) I think this shot's lovely. I am a huge fan of purple - whatever those things are.
