Send Them To The Tower

I thought I already had my shot for the day (which I'll upload to my third (oldies) album later) and was taking a wander around the Tower of London looking for some candid street shots when I noticed the Tower framed quite nicely.

Think the tents and trebuchet make this look like a view from 800 years ago (although on saying that, 800 years ago, there was a moat around the castle..!).

I would of called this 'Medieval Times' but given the rioting taking place these last few days, I think this title fits better..

Want to see something truly shocking? Here's an injured boy whois helped to his feet them mugged by the same people... What a lovely society..!!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14456065

I was surprised to see looted shops near work as no mention had been made on TV..but it seems we got off fairly lightly compared to other areas...

London does seem a lot quieter tonight, although I did see a plume of smoke rising across East London when on my way home.. Trouble seems to have spread north, with Manchester and some midland towns suffering mindless violence..

Great shot Andy, I sure hope it is over soon. They should be sent somewhere. Some guy was on the news and his family shop, which survived 2 world wars was destroyed last night.

Love this shot! Saw a piece on the news this aft. Looks like you've lost some very nice buildings to fire. Hope it comes to a rest soon and they start throwing people in jail!

Wonderful photo. Sorry about all the trouble & violence. Hope it ends soon.

That story is shocking and sad but your photo is awesome I would agree about it looking 800 years old with those tents despite the historical inaccuracy

Great shot of the tower, those tents really add to it. Saw that video of the help/mugged man. What has become of us? I trip to the tower sounds fitting indeed. When I was there a couple years ago they were having an exhibit of armor and weaponry that I think could be put to good use with some of these troublemakers.
