Had the day off as it was my birthday and headed down to Colchester zoo in the afternoon..
It was nice and quiet as it was a weekday as the school's hadn't broken up for half-term and what was also good was that we caught the feeding time for many of the animals, especially the big cats, meaning it was nice to see them moving about as opposed to laying around asleep
thanks guys @yogee246 I have a love/hate relationshp with zoos... love them for the conservation work they do and the chance to see animals from around the world close up, hate them when you see wonderful animals caged in smallish enclosures... although this zoo wasn't too bad and all animals had fairly big areas to wander about in...
I love this photo, but he doesn't look very happy. I feel the same as you about zoos - don't really like/don't want to like them, but love what they do for conservation
