Last day in Somerset and a drive down to Glastonbury to climb the Tor then onto the Abbey..

This was one of the most important and powerful places of worship in medieval times, supposedly where King Arthur is buried and believed by ancient Monks to be Avalon, the legendary island featured in Arthurian tales..

In 1539, Abbot Richard Whiting was hung, drawn and quartered as a traitor on Glastonbury Tor during Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries..
