Olympic Champion Volmari Iso-Hollo (1907-69) lived in Kerava. He ran 4 Olympic medals and 7 world records. He won Gold Medals in 3000 m steeplechase both in Los Angeles 1932 and in Berlin 1936. In Los Angeles he and the others were made to run extra 460 meters as the man counting the laps was looking elsewhere and lost the count of the laps. It seemed as if it was going to be a world record but then it wasn't because of the extra lap. This statue is in Kerava. Iso-Hollo is just coming to a water pool. In steeplecase they have both to leap over short fences and to run through some water pools.
