Are there any old school PC builders who can identify this assembly of things?
In the late 1990's, Intel decided the future of CPUs was plugging them into slots, instead of sockets... and they were wrong. Which let to the creation of this thing, a slot to socket adapter, which let you plug a socket CPU into a slotted motherboard.
One of the problems with the slot-mounted processors was they they were an impediment to proper air flow for cooling the CPU, which is why this one has a big aftermarket fan on it.
