@nadines @elaine55 I don't know a lot of birds and I did wonder if it was a cormorant but after checking it out I think Elaine might be right because it has the fine beak. Thanks for your comments ladies :)

@wordpixman @twistergirl Hi Arthur and Doris, apparently he is an Australian Darter, closely related to other darters found around the world. I'm not great with my birdlife knowledge. Thanks to Elaine for identifying him for me. I agree that he does look a lot like a cormorant.
