I love my mum's traditional decorations! The Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) is a mountainous region on the German Czech border and famous for its beautifully crafted decorations. Angels, nutcrackers, carol singers...you can still buy them at the traditional Christmas markets, and I now also have a growing collection of them adorning my Christmas tree.
Had a lovely relaxed Boxing Day with my family. We went to a wonderful concert in the evening. Berlin Comedian Harmonists - reviving some old favourites of the original Comedian Harmonists and reworking some newer songs - their acapella version of Michael Jackson was just hilarious and so was the translation of the lyrics! The theatre was stunning baroque style and I kicked myself for not even bringing my iPhone with me. I should know better by now, shouldn't I!
Adorable! Lovely shot of them. My sister-in-law visited the German market in Birmingham last year and sent me some beautiful glass night-light holders, I lit candles in them on the mantlepiece last night and of course it made me think of you! aw!
yes, =) you should know better but you can always go back and visit your family again, right?
