Whisky business

A cocktail with Glenmorangie, sherry and Drambuie. To go with an extremely youthful Tom Cruise in 80s classic Risky Business as recommended by Gone with the Gin.

Chilled day. Pilates first thing, bit of snow as I walked there but nothing much. Little brother of the Beast from the East expected today. Pilates a bit on the tough side.

Home for a toast and crumpet breakfast and saying goodbye to J and J. Played a bit of music, getting to grips with Another Jig Will Do then watched Risky Business. Quite an entertaining film but so so tame - a film like that today would have been full of sex and violence.

I cooked up a lot of old cabbages, some Jerusalem artichokes, leeks and carrots in a big soup for the week ahead while two of the foxes frolicked in the garden. Watched Beetlejuice while Dave pottered about and played a bit more guitar.

Watched another Gone with the Gin classic, Singin' in the Rain, later with a Sippin' in the Rain champagne (or Cava) cocktail. It began really snowing heavily and began to feel unsure if we'd get out to our planned walk tomorrow. Sal eventually texted suggesting we postpone it which seemed the sensible option as the trains would be disrupted and Dave was coming down with my lurgy and probably wouldn't benefit from walking in sub-zero temperatures.
