Coppermill Tower by boxplayer

Coppermill Tower

The rather striking Italianate Coppermill Tower - built in the 1800s, although the mill has been here for far longer. At the bottom end of Walthamstow Wetlands.

Lazy morning in bed catching up with papers and reading after Dave had gone to work. Got up for a second breakfast sat in the garden and reading. Headed out for a little cycle after - down towards the marshes then in at the bottom Wetlands gate.

Here I found they'd opened the viewing deck at the Coppermill Tower so climbed up to the top for great views - could see Alexandra Palace and Muswell Hill in the distance.

Cycled up tot he shop and had a nosey round then across the road to the northern wetlands and out the other exit. Winded my way through the side streets towards the park and then home via the corner shop for a fruit top-up.

Lunch of melon and feta in the garden again, played a few tunes then caught up with the first episode of series 2 of The Handmaid's Tale. Suitably bleak.

Cooked up a rather bizarre sounding stew of lentils and rhubarb together with some roast squash. It was interesting if blander than I expected despite there being shedloads of ginger, garlic, cardamom, chilli and mustard seeds.
