Ale Moller, Aly Bain and Bruce Molsky

A fantastic set of Shetland, Swedish and old-time music this evening.

Bit of a lie-in then went off to meet my mum at her old flat for 11.30. A damp drizzly day. We made a note of things that need doing: checking the carpet measuremments, paintwork, and the windows.

Had brunch in Evelina’s Patisserie, my usual salmon and egg avocado thing. Then mum wen thome and I went and looked at the fire escape - needs a bit of sorting out but not so bad as I'd thought.

Had a quick look in some of the charity shops and the book shops before getting the W7 and overground home for a relaxing read. Then back to Highbury and Islington again and onto Dalston for a gig at St Mark’s church hall with Swede Ale Moller, Shetlander Aly Bain and American Bruce Molsky. Excellent gig - lots of old favourites and stunning musicianship - a few people in the audience I knew - Chris D, Jo, Duncan and others.

We were a bit hungry after but there didn't seem to be any takeaways by the station - was briefly tempted by the Chinese near home but went back for a slice of bread with fishy bits and malt loaf.
