Cherry blossom, Kew Gardens by boxplayer

Cherry blossom, Kew Gardens

The ubiquitous cherry blossom shot - lots of lovely soft blossom around although the magnolia blossoms have taken a hit with all the cold frosts.

Dave's birthday today so a luxury start to the day with the amazing chocolates I'd got from Gilbert & Swayne - plus his new Fitbit, beers and a luxury food hamper - cobbled together by me.

Trekked over to south west London via the Tube (overground still a little restricted) to meet L and P as well as Francesco. A lovely day and when the sun shone - and it did when we decided to sit for our picnic - it was warmish.

Wandered a bit before choosing the Mediterranean garden for our picnic - miraculously quite quiet as the rest of the gardens were very busy and with two handily positioned benches.

I laid out my Mary Quant poncho so we could put sharing stuff out and we tucked in to olives, crisps, cheese, chocolate as well as a bottle of Veuve Cliquot (well you're only 59 once) and prosecco. A very pleasant two hours.

More wandering after and we even managed to see a peacock. My legs were starting to flag so L, P and I went off in search of a cup of tea while Dave and Francesco carried on looking at stuff.

A look round the shop before getting the overground home to await the Sainsbury's delivery - which was bang on the dot of 7 so we could whip it away and chill out the rest of the evening.
