Same Subject: Using positive/negative space to emphasize shape- Day 14
Day 14 of the "Flash of Red" challenge- Black and white photography for the month of February with a flash of red on February 14. The theme for days 11-17 is "Same Subject (Shape, Positive and Negative Space)." I let Garrett choose his red objects today. He is showing his loyalty to the Miami Heat basketball team. The original thought was to selectively color the large foam hand. However, I thought it might look a little off balance to have all the red to the one side of the figure and decided to do the shirt instead. It took a lot of patience and a steady hand to paint around the design and lettering, but I think I made the right decision.
@dave1947@koalagardens Thanks for the comments. His enthusiasm is wearing down just a tiny bit, but he never complains about it and cooperates when I ask him to. He made a couple of suggestions for possible places and poses yesterday, and when I told him that they didn't really fit in with the theme of this particular challenge he said, "Oh, well, maybe another time." So, I have a feeling that Garrett will be popping up in my photos on occasion throughout the run of my 365 project.
@psychographer@randystreat Thank you both for your comments. Garrett enjoyed posing with some "attitude" for my photos, but if you knew him you would know that he really has a wonderful sense of humor and loves jokes.
